HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES

These holiday activities have been designed to be carried out during holiday seasons or non-school days. On these days the students take part in workshops, recreational activities, English TNKC METHOD and reinforcement or tutoring.

WHEN DO THEY TAKE PLACE?
These activities are generally carried out at: Christmas, Easter and in summer.
There is also the possibility or taking part during the White Week and on the schools' free disposal days. |

HOW DO WE DO IT?
The management of each particular TNKC centre schedules in detail workshops and handicrafts, recreational activities, English and reinforcement or tutoring.
- Students are grouped according to age.
- Students work in small groups, respecting the ratio instructor/teacher- pupil.
- The values we train for allow a good development in children both physically and mentally.
- The different activities are arranged in thematic weeks allowing specific contents to be dealt with, namely, Science week, Pirates week, etc.
- Activities can be fully in English or mixed.

ENGLISH - TNKC METHOD
|

| Our main aim is for our pupils to acquire English naturally. Our philosophy is that a language “is acquired”, not simply learnt, therefore we start with strategies and resources very close to the students. |

The purpose of our methodology is that our students can:
- Have unlimited vocabulary and linked to their daily routine.
- Develop natural phonetics and writing skills.
- Acquire excellent reading and comprehension skills. |

How is our method applied?
FULL IN-CLASSROOM IMMERSION
Our lessons are fully in English from the very beginning. We never translate.
FUN AND ENTERTAINING LESSONS
Our pupils’ acceptance and attitude are encouraged. Groups are small and homogeneous, stimulating the students’ participation.
OWN RESOURCES
We work with different resources, all self-created, depending on when the activity is taking place:
- Books
- Flashcards
- Stories
- Worksheets

WHY ARE HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES SO IMPORTANT?
|
Holiday activities are important because we offer children a learning space through games and workshops on non-school days when they are in contact with and reinforce English as well as other subjects they find difficult.
This way, the non-school days become a leisure-time period during which children do not give up the learning habit acquired during the school days.
It also allows families to carry on with their working schedule at ease, knowing that their children are well cared for while learning and having fun. |

TEACHERS AND INSTRUCTORS
The professional teachers and instructors who work with us are people conscientiously chosen after a strict selection process.
All our instructors have the official leisure activities and free time instructor or supervisor certificate.
All our teachers are trained in our methodology, TNKC METHOD, and have the official educational degrees and certificates enabling them to deal with all type of educational needs.
Additionally, they all are guided and counselled according to THE NEW KIDS CLUB criteria; their work is supervised at all times.
